// Laser-sharpened and snarlingly sour, the sounds of Savannah, GA’s Pit Locust coil, languish and thrash back on top of themselves like a demented aural Mobius strip. Incalculable blast beats and threefold layers of odd-timed guitar and bass riffing result in a musical ouroboros that has earned them their well-deserved reputation as The Most Technical Band in Savannah.
// Despite being relatively new on the Southeast underground scene, Pit Locust has already shared the stage with heavy-hitters such as Orlando’s Gillian Carter, Venezuelan Post-Rock outfit Zeta, Australian grindlords King Parrot, and have been filmed by the classic hardcore archivist Hate5six.
// Listen to their debut single “Segmentation Fault” below:
// Live at the Portal in Savannah GA:
// Pit Locust’s dense instrumentals give way to lyrics that are unhinged meditations on the cost of techno-feudalism and the increasing digital surveillance state, delivered through vocal stylings that nod to the bands’ classic black metal influences while communicating a deep conspiratorial paranoia to the listener.
// The band has maintained the same lineup since it’s inception: Southeast mathcore die-hards will recognize ex Holy Ghost Tabernacle Choir bassist Aaron ‘Sleve’ Cooler, who started the band with newcomer to the Savannah underground scene, guitarist Evan Gerido. They quickly brought on drummer Luke Rola and vocalist/guitarist Carter Bridges, both members of long-standing SAV genrefuckers Klept.
